Fun fact: Ibiza is a UNESCO World Heritage site

Most people come for the parties, but Ibiza's Phoenician ruins, ancient salt flats and biodiversity earned it UNESCO status back in 1999.

In 1999, UNESCO inscribed Ibiza as a World Heritage site under the title 'Ibiza, Biodiversity and Culture', recognising four distinct treasures.

The fortified Renaissance walls of Dalt Vila, the Phoenician settlement of Sa Caleta, the necropolis of Puig des Molins, and the vast Posidonia seagrass meadows that keep the surrounding sea so impossibly clear.

It's a reminder that Ibiza's story stretches back nearly 3,000 years, long before the first DJ ever touched a turntable.
