The crystalline turquoise water Ibiza is famous for? You can thank a plant for that. Posidonia oceanica is a seagrass that carpets the seabed around the Balearic Islands, filtering the water and oxygenating it.

One single Posidonia meadow between Ibiza and Formentera is estimated to be over 100,000 years old, making it one of the oldest living organisms on Earth.
